Cosa succederebbe se, tutto d’un tratto, ci ritrovassimo all’interno di un dipinto che ha catturato la nostra attenzione?
Sotto forma di omaggio all’arte di Leonora Carrington, in questa storia seguiamo la protagonista, il cui personaggio è ispirato alla figura magica di The Giantess (The Guardian of the Egg), in un viaggio all’interno del dipinto che tanto la incuriosisce: Self-Portrait (Inn of the Dawn Horse). La bambina tornerà alla realtà portando con sé un regalo inaspettato.
Oltre il quadro è un libro senza parole di 32 pagine realizzato nel 2024 come progetto di tesi magistrale incentrato sulle potenzialità dei picturebook in contesti di educazione all’arte e alla cultura. Questo progetto ha inoltre partecipato al concorso per libri senza parole Silent Book Contest 2024.
What would happen if, all of a sudden, we found ourselves inside a painting that caught our attention?
As a tribute to the art of Leonora Carrington, this story follows the main character, who’s inspired by the magical figure of The Giantess (The Guardian of the Egg), on a journey inside the painting that so intrigues her: Self-Portrait (Inn of the Dawn Horse). The child will come back to reality with an unexpected gift.
Oltre il quadro is a 32-page wordless book created in 2024 as a master thesis project focused on the potential of picturebooks in contexts of art and culture education. This project also took part in the Silent Book Contest 2024.
